A great step into Deep Water Culture, Oxypots produce massive yields without a timer and with hardly any substrate. The plants are placed in a mesh pot containing pebbles and the roots hang down into the 20L growing chamber which contains an air pump that continually oxygenates the nutrient solution. When the bubbles rise to the surface they pop, causing a fine spray of nutrient solution to wet the expanded clay pebbles above. Supplying the roots with constant access to water, nutrients and oxygen drives exceptional growth.
Features & Benefits:
- Minimal substrate required – clean clay pebbles are recommended.
- Versatile – Whether you chose a 1 pot or 4 pot Oxypot, these systems give you flexibility to suit any growing space.
- Speed – DWC is one of the fastest growing techniques for heavy yields, because DWC enables optimum root access to water. nutrients and air.
On the side of the pot is a clear tube that shows the level of nutrients which you should aim to keep 1 to 2 cm’s beneath the mesh pot. Growing in DWC is pretty straight forward, it’s all about keeping your nutrients at the right strength and the right level in the bucket. Once a week you want to completely empty and refill your oxypot with fresh nutrient solution. Throughout the week, as the level of nutrients falls, top up your bucket with ¼ to ½ strength nutrient solution to maintain the level and adjust your pH as necessary.
Note: Avoid letting the level of your oxypot fall too low as the less water in the bucket the more toxic the nutrients become. Also keep an eye on your plant health as nutrient strength can fluctuate quite dramatically especially in flower.
